Posting as Lenil Palestar
It took quite a few moments for Lenil’s breath to return to it’s normal rate. She stood, hand lightly holding onto the arm of Grand Sentinel Niaha, on the bridge leading towards the Cenarion Enclave within Darnassus. Nearby lay the unconscious form of the Blood Lord Ravenhul Thaladrad. This was only the second time that the priestess had encountered the man that was apparently responsible for so much trouble to the Sentinels.
Lenil stood quietly as Niaha spoke with someone that Lenil assumed was a new recruit to the order; Khaylai was her name? Yes, Niaha had said it more than once now. There was certainly more than just the three of them surrounding the blood elf though. Lenil could hear at least three more people breathing near them. Others that had assisted in subduing the Blood Lord? It was entirely likely that that was the case.
The priestess tilted her face towards the ground, her usual stance; this way it was less likely for strangers to see her dim eyes and become uncomfortable around her. Not that she minded of course, but she wished to spare others discomfort because of her condition.
“So this is the one responsible for kidnapping Fafen and Isenvul then?” Khaylai asked.
Lenil raised her face sharply, “What? Someone has been captured.”
The new recruit responded, “Yes, I received a missive just yesterday stating as much.”
The priestess allowed a small frown to cross her lips, “That would be why I had not heard until now then.”
“Forgive me for not informing you sooner, Priestess. I was under the impression that you were still under the care of the Magister,” said the strong voice of Niaha, “It is true though. Fafen and her new husband were captured the night before last. And this one,” the sound of armor scraping against stone reached Lenil’s ears; Niaha must have been shoving Thaladrad’s body with her foot, “Along with his allies claimed responsibility for the act.”
Lenil nodded, the frown fading from her lips. “Should we not bring him into custody then, ma’am?” Khaylai asked.
“Yes, we are,” came Niaha’s response, “But I must leave you and Lenil to oversee his transfer to the prison. The contingent of Sentinels that assisted in subduing him tonight will accompany you. I must report to General Feathermoon on the night’s events.”
“As you say, Sister. Goddess go with you,” Lenil said as she released Niaha’s arm. She waited, listening to the sound of Niaha’s armored feet walking away, then held her hand out, seeking Khaylai, “Come. I would like to get the Blood Lord to the prison before he wakes. Sentinels, be so kind as to carry him for us.”
A few words of assent came as Khaylai took Lenil’s hand, and the small group made their way out of the city.
A short time later.....Lenil stood patiently waiting as the Sentinels placed Ravenhul’s still unconscious body down within the prison; she still held to Khaylai’s arm. “Rouse him, if you would please, before you set up guard, sisters.”
The sounds of the man grunting as he awoke reached Lenil’s ears. She smiled softly, “Blood Lord Ravenhul Thaladrad, you are hereby a prisoner of the Sentinels of the Blade, and will remain as such until you reveal the location of Fafen and Isenvul Devellato.”
The man snarled at her words, “I am a Blood Lord!! You can’t hold me here! You arrogant peasant! ((lawl))”
“We can, and we will, my good sir. Do not underestimate our power,” Lenil replied, “Elune is with us and will aid us in this venture.”
“Elune?! She has no power!! I will show you the true power! The power of the pure Light!” the blood elf growled back at her.
Lenil smiled, “You are mistaken, Thaladrad. She has granted us this victory in capturing you. And you would be wise to cooperate with us.”
He inhaled, “You would harm an unarmed man?!”
“We will do what we must to rescue our comrades.”
“But Fafen and Isenvul were armed! I am not!!” his voice sounded panicked.
“In another time, perhaps we would have taken that into consideration,” she replied calmly, “But you began this ordeal, and you
will bear the consequences.”
Ravenhul hissed at her, his voice loud, “I will NEVER tell you anything!!”
Khaylai seemed a bit agitated in her response, “You will talk eventually. Do not test the patience of the Kaldorei. It has been worn thin from centuries of war.”
Lenil let out a small sigh, “It’s obvious he isn’t going to be cooperating tonight,” she turned her face towards Khaylai’s voice, “Sentinel Khaylai, you are to stand guard over the Blood Lord tonight. Ensure that none enter or leave the area. You will be relieved at dawn.”
“Yes, priestess.”
She turned her face back towards the direction Ravenhul’s voice had been coming from, “As for you, Thaladrad, I pray that Elune softens your heart and helps you to see that cooperation on your part will be better in the end.”
With that, she stepped back a few paces, bowing her head and closing her dim eyes. Nearly inaudible words poured from her mouth in prayer, and a prison of light shot up and enclosed the blood elf.
“Send word immediately if you need assistance, Sentinel Khaylai.”
And with that, Lenil allowed herself to be led away by one of the remaining Sentinels. She would need to send word to Grand Sentinel Niaha and await further instructions once she arrived back in Darnassus.
((Yay Ravenhul is in Sentinel’s custody! Who’s the arrogant peasant now?! <3))
