Seems to me that you are operating under a flawed assumption.

Someone being nice to one person does not mean that same someone is generally nice.

Not saying Loeth isn't nice, I have no idea, I don't know the guy.

Never trying to rationalize with them gives them the go ahead to say you never tried.  Makes their argument stronger.  This is towards anyone that you have a difference of opinion with really.

If you make at least one clear attempt to be rational with who you're arguing with or talking with, you will always have that to fall back on if they bring out the "YOU NEVER TRIED EITHER LOLOLOLOOLOOLOLOLZ" argument.

I actually have had the pleasure of being in the same guild as him, alliance side ... and I've grouped with him and other LS on Horde side many-a-times ... never having /facepalms ... but it's a game. People mess up. Big deal.

I wasn't implying that because he was nice to me that he wasn't to other folks but the only thing that's been picked apart on this thread is the fact that he fucked up in a BG and he used to report posts on the official forums. That's not indicative of "the kind of person he is", because for starters, the dude's man enough to admit he did it while a bunch of the people on these forums STILL do report and just don't man up to it. Besides, you all seem happier here than you do on the official forums so if you think he's a dbag for reporting, the ends justify the means because you wound up with a set of forums that you enjoy being on (at least most of the time, anyway).

Well I really don't care too much either. Generally I was facepalming because he'd be making a huge deal out of nothing. Such as making a huge deal about whether or not he was technically kicked out of Sunsworn, when in reality he's just arguing semantics over and over, and bringing up the topic in a huge dramafest every other month. This is like the fourth time since he left Sunsworn that he started a large dramafest regarding the departure. At this point it's understandable that people are hot and bothered by it, it's old news that he keeps stewing over.

You know, I'll actually rationally discuss this just for this post and be serious, because even in the trolling mood I'm in doesn't disregard the nature of my distaste for Leothiel.

Attack me and whoever else you want, but there is a certain point to be made mentioning that Wylair is amongst those attacking him here and he's never involved in this kind of stuff normally. What Wylair says is right, and really anyone that HASN'T been in the same guild as the guy can't understand the absolute venom some of us have with the guy. That's developed over, as Wylair says, months and months of playing with the guy nearly every night. I remember when I saw Leothiel pop on I was getting prepared for the Leothiel 3 hour comedy skit for the night and it was ALWAYS hilarious. Iceblock, Stam/res gems, outdpsed by a prot warrior; these are all just the most memorable moments dealing with the guy. As Wylair said, facepalm's in regards to Leothiel were nightly and sometimes several times in a single game session.

But I really don't care whether people actually properly acknowledge the things Leothiel has done and react in fashion, I'm doing this cause the guy reacts hilariously and a few ignorant people defending him on the forum won't change the opinion that I know for a fact a loooooooooooooooooooooot more people than have posted against him on the forums or IRC have of the guy. But hey, remain ignorant and act stupid. We need people to make fun of once Leothiel has come and it's evident amongst the defenders the anal inflammation several of them have.

I offer them advice when I know how to fix their probs and if they still don't fix them, I just stop participating in stuff that would require them to actually be good. Can't force people to play how you want them to and won't gkick them or outright ignore them for their shortcomings in game. I didn't start playing WoW to be the best and I don't expect the same from the people I play with. They're good people and nice to hang out with. We all respect each other and we stress to others allies/enemies alike to at least make effort to be respectful. If I cared about being the best, I'd probably try to get into serious RBG guilds or something that had a rating requirement. I'd rather have fun though.
