I defend the guy because he's always been nice to me and people ganging up on someone shows nothing but cowardice. You can say "white knight" all you want, but if you're wrong then you're wrong. Also, you continue to quote one thing repeatedly because either you have nothing intelligent to counter anything I've said or you're just too lazy to. Either way ... I'm still here ... still saying what I want.
Have you ever had the displeasure of being in the same guild as him for multiple months and having to endure the nightly facepalms?
I actually have had the pleasure of being in the same guild as him, alliance side ... and I've grouped with him and other LS on Horde side many-a-times ... never having /facepalms ... but it's a game. People mess up. Big deal.
But saying since he's nice to you so he deserves defending, ie you assuming his innocence isn't a very good system.
For instance, plenty of my friends are nice to me but I am 100% aware that in general they are total douchebags.
Trying to rationalize with someone using circular logic is about as stupid as using circular logic just so you know.
I wasn't implying that because he was nice to me that he wasn't to other folks but the only thing that's been picked apart on this thread is the fact that he fucked up in a BG and he used to report posts on the official forums. That's not indicative of "the kind of person he is", because for starters, the dude's man enough to admit he did it while a bunch of the people on these forums STILL do report and just don't man up to it. Besides, you all seem happier here than you do on the official forums so if you think he's a dbag for reporting, the ends justify the means because you wound up with a set of forums that you enjoy being on (at least most of the time, anyway).
It's not circular logic for me to say "you should follow the advice you gave to me" or to say "stop ganging up on someone". I've seen pictures of alot of you. You're grown people. You're smart enough to pick your own fights and man your own guns, so ganging up on people just make you look bad ... and if it was IRL and this shit was going down, would you still see your arguments the same way? Say you were all on a baseball team and Leo missed a pop-fly and lost the championship game for you. Would you all surround him and berate him or beat his ass? If you saw this happening to someone else, would you just say "He deserves it." or "Sucks to be him." and ignore it? Horrible analogy, I'm sure, but I do not need to know the history of this server and every player on it to see that you guys are bullying him and that's all there is to it. Mob mentality is wrong. Fight your own fights ... roll an alt and send in-game mails to each other ... PM each other on the forum if you must need validation for the drama that means 0 outside of the game.
@Xizwhoa, see my first paragraph. Humans make mistakes. They 'fess up, they apologize ... and whether you believe so or not, people change. I believe they deserve 2nd chances. I also believe full-heartedly that "being crucified" and getting banned from the official forums is a blessing in disguise. Have you been there lately? Every other post in every thread is being reported. Who wants to be involved in any of that anyway? You guys got a good thing going here ... freedom to say what you want and all that jazz.
"You're an asshole for getting us banned, but you can't take Emerald Drama away." /nuffsaid?
