Well, I'll update what has been happening so far.
Firstly, they've done the whole "buy access to the beta" thing, and I believe they have done that because the beta is fairly stable now. I have no framerate issues, like I was having before. There are still some bugs, but the only two that I find immediately annoying are as follows:
1) Whenever you're using the interface (M for map, which has tabs to switch between different interfaces), there is a chance your mouse will simply disappear, which means you have to close the interface and reopen it and move quickly, as your mouse is likely to disappear again.
2) There appears to be an issue with USB headset microphones when they're not the same source for sound. They tend to break up in the ears of others, and there is a chance at that point that they'll recover or you'll go out altogether, requiring a client restart.
But beyond that, the game has become very enjoyable. I am toying with the different factions, and the different "speccing" that you can get into is the result of certification points which are earned in battle, and spent in the interface. They are not all specific to a class, however. For example, a cert may go towards equipment for a gun (the thermal sights, for one) and that gun may be used across a few different classes.
These cert points can be spent on vehicle customizations too, such as what cannons are mounted on your Liberator (a three-man bomber/gunship), different armor plating for your Sunderer (an APC), or for different styles of headlights. A lot of the cert options are not available for testing yet, though.
Voice is very useful in the game, even if you're listening. For now, a lot of the CoD mic spammers are not existent outside of the warpgates, and you have toggles to broadcast between proximity, squad, platoon and your outfit, which is more or less a guild.
It's becoming very pretty. I look forward to seeing what happens before its release, which is slated for New Year's Eve.
